Celebrated Italian architect Marta Sala and Rome firm Lazzarini & Pickering debuts two furniture, lighting and accessories collections at New York’s The Future Perfect. Exuding a strong sense of craftsmanship and luxury, the new pieces employ strategic geometry that fits in seamlessly with the gallery’s collection. Following the motto “the secret soul of useful things,” pieces like the Eugenio modular table or the Claudia table lamp reveal a keen understanding of detail, in both technical aptitude and symbolic reference. Designs like the Lavina armchair take on an almost Art Deco quality; infused with a nuance of humour. Works like the Harry side table and the Murena chair both employ the refined element of a bevelled open-structure schematic. Established in 2015, Marta Sala Editions expands on year’s of her experience working with different talents. Her role as a producer and creative in her own right proves that the best designers are still architects; the true tradition of the Italian ingegnere architetto
