The Flamingo Lounge at DesignMiami/ 2016
Visitors to DesignMiami/ 2016 can look forward to visiting the Flamingo Lounge, Tabanlıoğlu Architects‘ take on the Collector’s Lounge at the show. Citing everyone from filmmaker John Waters to Mies van der Rohe as inspiration, the Istanbul-based architects will render the 100-square-meter space in a distinctive candy pink color. Alluding to the vibrant liquid forms of Gaetano Pesce, the interior and furniture will uniformly be cast from resin, with the space itself divided into different zones.
Set to take place from 30 November – 4 December, the 12th edition of DesignMiami/ will convene collectors, gallerists, designers, and curators from around the world. The Flamingo Lounge marks Tabanlıoğlu Architects’ first project in Miami, following the opening of their New York office.
