LouLou and Musling by SPACE Copenhagen
SPACE Copenhagen is pleased to present two new restaurant projects in the Danish capital, which demonstrate the depth and breadth of the design studio.
Having spatially interpreted Rene Redzepi’s world-class restaurant noma, SPACE Copenhagen has long specialized in hospitality design with a Scandinavian aesthetic. Two new restaurant projects in Copenhagen demonstrate the depth and breadth of the Danish design studio, which was founded by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rutzou in 2004. A slight departure from their signature Nordic touch, LouLou is the design duo’s second collaboration with chef Bo Bech, the first being Geist in 2011. In keeping with the cuisine — contemporary comfort food — the interior is characterized by its warmth, expressed through its varied palette and decor. SPACE Copenhagen’s plush “Stay” chair for Gubi complements the ambiance.
Meanwhile, the interior of Musling is an exercise in understatement, casting a warm glow on an industrial aesthetic. Located near the Torvehallerne food market, overlooking the square, the relaxed dining environment is the latest project from Anders Selmer and Bagge Algreen. The team behind Fiskebaren — Copenhagen’s meatpacking district — called on SPACE Copenhagen to realize their vision for an elegant seafood restaurant.
