Simon de Pury at Villa Boghossian Foundation
On April 21st, Simon de Pury hosts a round-table discussion at the Villa Boghossian with Tiqui Atencio, Cathy Vedovi and Diana Campbell Betancourt. Simon will be introduced by Lise Coirier.
As part of the exclusive gatherings of the Circle of the Villa, the Boghossian Foundation welcomes Simon de Pury, guest editor of TLmag41: The Art of Collecting.
Former curator of the Thyssen–Bornemisza Collection and mentor to numerous contemporary artists, photographers and designers, The Man with the Golden Gavel – according to the BBC – will be introduced by TLmag’s very own Editor-in-chief, Lise Coirier,
From the Baroque to Impressionism, and through to modern abstraction, women have shaped the history of art, whether as muses, patrons or collectors. Today, they are fully recognised: acclaimed artists, avant-garde curators, museum directors, influential commissioners and critics. They create, exhibit, decide, and reinvent the way art is seen and experienced.
To explore this transformation, Simon de Pury will lead an unprecedented conversation on creation, power and female perception: an intuitive sensibility that captures the strength of artworks, illuminates choices, and inspires a new reading of the artistic world.
Three exceptional voices will reveal the many facets of the female gaze.
Tiqui Atencio Demirdjian, a Venezuelan collector passionate about modern and contemporary art, is a member of the Guggenheim Museum Board and of the Tate Modern Acquisition Committee. She has edited publications on the world of collectors and artists’ interiors and, co-founded the prestigious Mustique Caribbean Contemporary Art Show & Prize. Tiqui was a contributor to TLmag 41: The Art of Collecting.
Cathy Vedovi, an interior designer, French collector and philanthropist, is a member of the Board of the Bass Museum of Art in Miami. She lives between Florida and her historic Venetian palace, the Palazzo Corner Spinelli.
Diana Campbell Betancourt, an American curator specialising in contemporary art from South and Southeast Asia, directs the Samdani Art Foundation in Dhaka, serves as chief curator of the Dhaka Art Summit, and was curator of the Bukhara Biennale (Uzbekistan) in 2025.
Other speakers will enrich this meeting, offering a lively and plural dialogue on creation, power and female acuity.
This evening promises to bring together collectors and key figures from the cultural sphere. It celebrates the power, intuition and influence of women in the artistic world.
The talk takes place on Tuesday, April 21st. RSVP required.
