The folding bike by Ahooga
From an onomatopoeia, the Belgian startup Ahooga was founded by Frederic Mertens and Philippe Lefrancq. Together they always focus on dissolving obstacles to Happy Cities. Put differently, they design concern-solving bikes and accessories that address actual and potential – those who still hesitate to ride a bike every day – cyclists’ expectations. Their first flagship product, the Ahooga Bike, brings to life an exclusive combination of features: ultra-lightweight, folding, electric, elegant, compact, stiff, speedy, stable, comfortable and easy to carry when folded. Connoisseurs know what we’re talking about. In no more than 10 seconds, it folds down to a very compact and portable size. Take a closer look at its width. Unlike other folding bikes, its weight and compactness makes it awesomely easy to carry. With no hitch, it can be taken on any form of private or public transport. Once folded, it is discrete and can be tucked indoors (home, office, bar, restaurant…), away from bad weather and ill-intentioned people. Of course the startup does not intend to produce this bike only and already announces a few innovative accessories to be launched soon, such as the Ahooga RainShield, an aerodynamic protection against bad weather, or an ultra-lightweight and super resistant padlock, without forgetting what they call The Internet of Bikes… Great news for users who are familiar with capricious weather and super heavy padlocks.
