The vibrant and energetic world of Bela Silva has been captured in a limited-edition monograph co-published by Flammarion and Spazio Nobile Gallery. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Bela Silva has had a decades-long career in the visual arts, working across mediums including painting, ceramics, drawing and sculpture. Her mastery with colour and pattern is often complemented by flourishing images of the natural world, jungle-life, birds, flowers and animals that captivate the imagination and make you want to enter into her creative universe. Silva has exhibited her work internationally in museums and galleries and has worked on numerous public and private commissions. Whether a large ceramic vase, a totemic sculpture or a lush watercolour, “each piece is a visual story reflecting her passion for nature, myth and the mysteries of the human spirit,” writes Lise Coirier.

The Bela Silva monograph features a bespoke cover with a stunning fore-edge painting designed by the artist, transforming the volume itself into a work of art. The book features essays by Glenn Adamson, curator, writer and historian, Christian Larsen, associate curator at MoMA, Pierre Passebon, founder of Galerie du Passage, in Paris, and Jaques Grange, the eminent interior designer, with whom Silva has regularly collaborated, and Lise Coirier, art historian, co-founder of Spazio Nobile and publisher of TLmag. The book includes 264-pages and 275 colour illustrations and is available in the United States, the UK and Europe.

Two launch events are taking place this autumn in Paris and Brussels.
