Resulting from a 15-year collaboration with high-end German manufacturer Hansgrohe, Italian industry heavy-hitter Antonio Citterio introduces the Citterio E bathroom collection to the American market. Responding to rapid shifts in bathroom culture over the past 20-years, this new “accessories” but wholly-coordinated collection of fittings, fixtures, storage and interchangeable shelving units channel elegance but also an easy-of-use as the designer returns to a form follows function models. As an added value, the new offering also integrates technology. An almost iconic cross-cast handle trim – allowing for sharp tactility in turning water on, though an advance internal cartage does the trick – runs through the entire collection whether it be a flat shower head or sink unit. These fittings, in a wide range of finishes, are adaptable to different contexts – the bathroom as an extended living space – beyond the different applications of a hotel room and domestic iteration. Faucets are strategically conceived to avoid unintended splashes and waste. However seamless in eclectic bathrooms of tomorrow, these designs are bold jewels in their own right.
