Little Sun is based in Berlin and focus on getting solar-powered lamps to people still living without access to electricity.
“Little Sun is a portable solar-powered LED lamp you can take with you wherever you go. Featuring two light levels, it’s easy to use: charging for 5 hours in the sun produces 10 hours of soft light or 4 hours of bright light. Little Sun’s combination of beautiful design and exceptional engineering has made the lamp popular around the world. You can use it to light your garden or balcony, as well as indoors to brighten your home. It’s also perfect for camping, at the beach, hiking, BBQs, and festivals. And kids love it, too!
But Little Sun is much more than just a great lamp – it’s a global project and social business that is connecting the world through sharing light. Artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen developed the Little Sun solar-powered lamp to get clean, reliable, affordable light to as many people as possible. Our lamps are sold at a higher price in areas of the world with electricity so that the lamps can be sold in ‘off-grid’ areas at much lower, locally affordable prices.”
