With a Greek agora-like scenography as locus for unscripted discourse, Airbnb-mounted Belong.Here.Now activates a hefty line-up of talks and happenings throughout Art Basel Miami Beach week (2-6 December). The With Design Company-conceived urban scenario for “share performance” is made up of columns and structural fragments framing a series of rooms for spontaneous configuration. Installed across the street from gallery forum Design Miami/, the interactive event hosts a rich programme counting some of the world’s most dynamic creatives and thinkers as facilitators.

Among them, TLmag 23-featured Paola Antonelli – MoMa Senior Curator of Architecture and Design, Director of Research and Development – and Joe Gebbia – Airbnb co-founder and designer in his own right – explore the ever-growing zeitgeist of hybridity: practices working across the board in different mediums and applications to forge a stronger identity in addressing pressing global issues. Antonelli and Gebbia’s talk is held on Thursday 3 December from 15:00 – 17:00. Other highlights include london-based designer Yinka Ilora’s open process discussion – allowing visitor to share their experience and insight on his vintage up-cycled projects – held on Saturday 5 December from 14:00 on. Last but not least, cultural curator Kim Hastreiter will invite members of Pink Martini and the public for a sing-along. Clearly, Belong.Here.Now mandates to open the design and art dialogue to a wider audience and in turn, convince of the importance of collaboration as future-proof. Look for a TLmag post view in early December.

Belong.Here.Now: Meridian Ave. & 19th st., Miami Beach (across  the  street  from  the  entrance  to  Design Miami/)
