Following a well-received debut during Milan Design Week, Belgian Matters made its way to Brussels at the Design Flanders Gallery last month for Design September. This month from 14–23 October, the Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk marks the final time that the organization Belgium is Design will present the exhibition in toto. Conceived in collaboration with DAMN° Magazine, the exhibition pairs 13 designers with as many companies, many of which are outside the domain of furniture design.

Belgian Matters is as much about the process, starting with materials and techniques, as it is about the final products. The collaboration proved to be a mutually beneficial dialogue for both the designers and the partners — from manufacturers to artisans to research centers — as the experience is presented alongside the results. Similarly, the participants hail from all three regions of Belgium: Brussels, Flanders, and Wallonia.
