The competition ‘Weaving Love, Creating Hope’ asks designers to create a symbol of “Hope” for a local textile industry in Bangladesh by design a brand new check pattern OR by designing a product with a check fabric.  The winner of the 1st prize in each category receives $3,000!  Entries close on March 31, 2011.

The competition focuses on the importance of cause-driven business. “Grameen Felissimo”, a joint social business launched in February 2011 with the Yunus Centre, led by Prof. Muhammad Yunus (2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner) contributes to the future generations of Bangladesh by providing employment to their people, particularly to the most disadvantaged, while enhancing the unique traditional culture and artisanship.
