Design Days Dubai Preview
Returning for its fifth edition, Design Days Dubai – tomorrow-18 March – joins the ranks of top collectible design fairs with a slew of leading international and regional galleries. Record visitor numbers will only be matched by high sale returns. Capturing a range of limited edition works, the event provides a platform for young talents as well as different sectors of the craft revival movement. At the centre of the Menasa region but also as the only fair of its kind in the Middle East, Design Days Dubai will offer a rich programme of talks, workshops and guided tours. This years event will put an even stronger accent on local initiatives – the growing cultural power of the Gulf and nearby regions – such as Monogram Gallery (UAE), Loulwa Al-Radwan (Kuwait), Georges Amatoury Studio (Lebanon), Aisha Al-Sowaidi (Qatar), Coalesce (Pakistan) and Naqsh Collective (Jordan). Continuing this mandate, Van Cleef & Arpel will yet again sponsor the Middle East Emergent Designer Prize. Other notable TLmag-featured exhibitors will include: Art Factum (Beirut), Carpenters Workshop Gallery (Paris, London, New York), Crafts Council UK (London), Gallery S. Bensimon (Paris), Victor Hunt (Brussels) and Dutch Creative Industries.
