ECAL Graphic Design Exhibition
An invitation from Eyes on Talents brought the exhibition “ECAL Graphic Design” to Paris during the D’Days festival from 31 May to 5 June. Hosted by Boon, the exhibition featured the best recent projects from the ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne), which has long established itself as a world-class institution for graphic design education, among other disciplines. From books and catalogues to typography and digital media, the works on view — projects from the last five years — represent the depth and breadth of the Swiss school’s pedagogy.
The initiative dates back to March of this year, with the publication of “ECAL Graphic Design” and concurrent exhibition at ECAL and Galerie l’elac. As an anthology of student work from the Graphic Design Bachelors and Art Direction Masters programs, the book takes an unconventional format: Gavillet & Rust studio have organized the projects not by category or chronology but by color. Adrien Rovero, who is featured in Silver Edition TL Mag 25, followed suit with his “chromalogical” exhibition design.
