Half Decade Beast by Moustache | May – June at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Paris
Moustache presents its new collection “Half Decade Beast” at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Paris from May, 8 to June, 20.
For its fifth anniversary, the French home furnishings company Moustache presents Half Decade Beast , a beast halfway in its first decade. “Alive”, breathable, the Half Decade Beast shows in its slow and insured breaths movements, 10 new projects that open and prospect editing stuff and production.
It’s a real incarnation of Moustache’s commitments for projects that are not only dictated by the market’s needs but also by the cultural quality they are under the recent history of manufactured objects, Half Decade Beast presents all the projects of Scholten & Baijings, Formafantasma, Bertjan Pot, Raw- Edges, Constance Guisset, Dimitri and Jean- Baptiste Bähler Fastrez.
Each one of them question the way we produce and consume today’s surrounded objects. Rather than more agree in the direction of some technological escalation will meet or satisfy standards and ideals, these ten new projects reshuffling the cards and try in their own way to take part for a rational production in agreement with our contemporary ideals. “Alive”, the Moustache’s installation Half Decade Beast also shows a selection of drawn objects (2009 – 2014) that have marked Moustache’s history and have helped to build its identity.
The Half Decade Beast took place at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris for two months (May and June 2014). For the exhibition, Moustache asked to Jean-Baptiste Fastrez to draw the beast and the scenography and to Graphiquants to draw a breathable font and all the graphic sides of the exhibition. There is also a series of 12 photos of Charles Negro.
