NIKARI present  “5 STUDIES FOR NATURE”

A collaboration with nordic design students and their ideas.

Nikari, a furniture design brand rooted in the Nordic tradition from years. Especially  passionate by wood, they create contemporary design in a respectable way we love. They just launch their new very interesting project : Studies for Nature 2014.

So they asked to furniture design students from the Aalto University – Helsinki to create something comfortable : a wooden lounge chair that can be used in hotels, airports or even homes.

The “Helsinki Study” – first product – has been designed  by Wilhelmiina Kosonen and photographed by Chikako Harada. It has been shown to the next group : students from the GDUT – China, the biggest design university in the world, so they can continue this ‘lounge serie’ by designing a new piece of furniture. The two pieces will be showed as well to the third group – Canadian students from Sheridan College – so they will be able to imagine and create a piece of furniture that fits into the esthetic entity and is not meant for the same ‘lounge seating’ purpose. This goes forward, to Politecnico Di Milano, Italy and then in the end, to Konstfack, Stockholm Sweden.

Of course, TL Mag keeps in touch the next studies, be there for the next one in May… ;-)

See www.nikari.fi for more information.

NB / They also collaborate with WWF Finland and donate part of the possible sales profit to protecting forests’ biodiversity globally.
