Laufen Bathrooms is pleased to unveil a new showroom in Madrid, designed by Patricia Urquiola. The renowned Spanish designer has transformed s villa from the early 1900s to a contemporary space for architects, desigers, and professionals. At two levels totaling nearly 200 square meters, the new Laufen Bathrooms showroom captures the spirit of the Swiss company.
Urquiola has selected a refined material palette, from marble and glass to resin and oak, “inspired by the materials usually used for the design bathroom.” The Milan-based designer’s signature touch is a mock-up room, where architects, designers, and technicians can develop designs together. The new Laufen Bathrooms showroom in Madrid also offers two meeting rooms with a materials library to underscore its value as a resource for professionals.
The new Laufen Bathrooms showroom, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is now open at 28 Calle Covarrubias, 28010, Madrid, Spain.
The context of the new showroom, with an area of almost 200 square meters, is a historic villa from the early 1900s, located in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods of Madrid.
The entrance stairway of the building gives way to a spectacular lobby, presided by two bathtubs of the Ino collection by Laufen on a marble base. The room, with two columns that provide a noble air, is the focal point of the ground floor, which leads to multiple spaces with different functionalities.
Inside the training room there is a library made of washbasins that can unhook and hook again easily so that architects and designers can experience the exclusive quality of the company's products. The showroom is a space of vivid experience, a realistic, informal setting that is perfect to welcome industry professionals.
The combination of different shades can create a welcoming environment in the different exhibition halls of the collections, as in that of the Palomba Collection. The blend of robust and at the same time sensuous contours lends the Palomba Collection its special charm.
The meeting room includes a library of materials that provides technical information and stimulates the creativity of professionals. Every room is framed with a tubular natural black iron frame embellished with a gold galvanized finish in the corners.
The first floor has a large space dedicated to the collection Kartell by Laufen and reflects the elegance and rigor found throughout the showroom. Here the combination of marble and onyx gets special emphasis.
The room dedicated to the Val and Ino collections manages to give life to a cozy atmosphere. The colours and the materials take inspiration from the exclusive materials used for the design of the bathroom: marbles mixed with onyx, mirror glass, resin, oak wood and iron in light tones, with contrasting points of colour.
