British designer, Jasper Morrison’s philosophy is to make objects that are ‘super normal’. The iconic Plate Table that he created for Vitra in 2004 is no exception. Simple and paired-back the table seamlessly blends into any environment.

However, for this year’s charity auction, La Source invited 50 French artists to hack Morrison’s Plate Table. The results? Super un-normal!

The tables have been transformed into lights, artistically graffitied, covered in yarn, extended with Louboutin shoe mannequins, upholstered in leather and fur, converted into cabinets and sculptures, featured in paintings and one even got stuck in a seemingly alive red oozing mass.

Displayed at the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale, Hôtel de l’Industrie, Paris from December 8-10. The one-of-a-kind artworks will then be auctioned on the 10th to raise money for underprivileged young people to help them achieve personal development through artistic expression. La Source is a social and educational action group that was founded in the 1990s by French artist and painter Gérard Garouste.

The artists who produced an artwork for this year’s auction are: Jean-Michel Alberola, Antoine+Manuel, Bachelot Caron, Elliott Barnes, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Odile Decq, Guillaume Delvigne, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Claire Fanjul, Edouard François, Olivier Gagnère, Quentin Garel, Elizabeth Garouste, Gérard Garouste, Alice Gavalet, Christian Ghion, Eric Giriat, Eric Gizard, Loris Gréaud, Marianne Guedin, Kuntzel+Deygas, Hubert Le Gall, Jean-François Lesage, Arik Levy, Christian Louboutin, India Mahdavi, Marion Mailaender / CELC, Nicolas Marciano, Olivier Masmonteil, Dorothée Meilichzon, Ingo Maurer & Axel Schmid, Pierre Monestier, Léa Munsch, Petit h/Hermès, Eric Robin, Inga Sempé, Ara Starck, Philippe Starck, Tsé & Tsé, Hervé Van der Straeten, Aksel Varichon, Ionna Vautrin, Françoise Vergier, Fabien Verschaere, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert, Pierre Yovanovitch and Charles Zana
