Transcending seclusion and accessibility, Thonet‘s new 808 lounge chair takes on a cocoon-like quality all its own. Designed by Munich-based Formstelle – Claudia Kleine and Jörg Kürschner – this latest addition to the German brand’s long history of sophisticated furnishings embraces personal comfort. A wavily-upholstered core cuts-out from an angular shell while a cleverly hidden mechanism and enhanced footstool allow each user to position the chair to their liking. This adaptability continues through a wide choice of swivel frames. Completing the design, a specially conceived Soul fabric by Roli is offered in thirteen colours. The newly developed yarn echos the depths and honeycomb structure this lounger already exudes. Customers can choose from six different colour worlds, each consisting of material options in leather, fabric and formed fleece, with matching decorative seams. Discover 808 and its cousin S95 at next month’s imm Cologne.
