Igloo Village Kakslauttanen
Still looking for a perfect spot to read your tl.mag #13, dedicated to Scandinavia and more specifically to Helsinki World Design Capital 2012? Hotel Kakslauttanen, located 250 km above the Arctic Circle in the Finnish part of Lapland, offer 40 first-class log cabins, out of which five are queen suites, one honeymoon turf chamber and one traditional Lappish farmer log house. In wintertime, accommodations include snow igloos and glass igloos! The glass igloos are built from a special thermal glass so the temperature inside the igloo is plenty toasty. If you prefer a more rustic approach, you can sleep in a snow igloo in which the temp hovers between -3°C and -6°C with a sleeping bag rated to -32°C, woolen socks and a hood. There’s also a restaurant and a chapel for fairytale winter wonderland weddings.
