The 12th DMY International Design Festival Presents More Than 500 Designers at the Airport Berlin Tempelhof

The DMY International Design Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the field of design and plays an important role as an economic driving force, think tank and creative hub for designers from Germany and across the world. During the five festival days, from May 28 – June 1, 2014, some 150 exhibitors will present more than 500 international and national designers, studios and 15 universities. On a more than 12,000m² space, visitors of the festival will get an impression of the latest developments and future trends in the field of design.

Social Design will be the focus of a new annual section of the festival. Issues such as progress, sustainability and basic human needs will be reflected.

The central exhibition at the Airport Berlin Tempelhof will present an interesting cross-section of innovative concepts, design objects, as well as research projects from renowned designers, studios and leading universities. Numerous countries, such as Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, Finland, Poland, Sweden, South Korea, China, Egypt, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina will be represented at the festival.

This year’s festival will also see the launch of the first DMY Market offering the visitors the opportunity to purchase selected works and studies on site.

For the second time, the DMY festival is the central event of the Berlin Design Week (May 26 – June 1, 2014) that will feature events and exhibitions throughout the city.
