Contemporary Istanbul Names Marc-Oliver Wahler as Curator for its 10th Edition
In preparation of Contemporary Istanbul‘s 10th edition – 12 to 15 November 2015, held at Istanbul Congress Center (ICC) and Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) – the fair has annouced has the pleasure to announce per-eminent international curator, art critic and historian Marc-Olivier Wahler as curator. As the founder and director of Chalet Society – an exhibition space in Paris that goes beyond the white box and delves-depth into ideas, education, creation, and collection all in a community space – Wahler’s role as artistic advisor will fortify the fair’s international appeal.
Contemporary Istanbul is Turkey’s leading international art fair – bringing both a local and international focus to the dynamic art scene to the vibrant metropolis every November. Year after year, Contemporary Istanbul has become ever more international, recently ranked as fifth most visited event of its kind by Skate’s Art Market Research. Last year alone, the fair exhibited 108 galleries from 23 countries,and brought in 80-thousand visitors – including museum groups like members of Royal Academy of Arts, Palais de Tokyo, Albertina Museum, Delfina Foundation, Guggenheim Circle Venice, Whitney Museum of American Art and Sotheby’s Preferred.
