Rhode Island-based Dunn is a cutting-edge design firm emblematic of the American craft revival. Dedicated to the tenants of originality, noble materials, nature and sustainability, principal Alfred Rodriquez-Dunn has overseen the development of numerous furniture and lighting collections. Established in 2010, the studio looks to solve old problems with new solutions while holding to the age-old ethos of form following function. The physical conditions and time-constraints of recycled materials are respected, as are local partnerships. At last month’s ICFF, Dunn presented new iterations of its Coventry and Rockport collections – identifiable by a standardised multi-lathed tripod leg and rounded joints. the Sorenthia pendant series reveals the firm’s ability to create custom pieces through modularisation. Equinox Sconce plays on celestial movement offset light in something of a spatial glow.
