Li Yiwen, Feizi Gallery
Established in 2007, originally Shanghai-based FEIZI Gallery started out by representing emerging and established Chinese contemporary artists. In June 2012, the gallery set up in Brussels and is committed to identifying new talents from Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Hangzhou; offering a fresh, unseen, unique perspective on contemporary art. A Li Yiwen No Man’s Land exhibition opened on 12 June 2015. In his work, cities are disembodied and imbued with a ghostly existence. With a post-modern approach, his particularity is to condense the whole of time: past, present, future and fleeting. Yiwen’s painting transport us into a real nomansland. Much like timeless American artist Edward Hopper, he tackles the beauty of the ordinary with a great sense of poetry.
This exhibition runs until 5 September at FEIZI Gallery. The gallery is closed for summer holidays through 20 August 2015.
