During the Milan Design Week 2015, Annabel Karim Kassar showed an architectural installation named Camera Chiara in the Cortile 700 of the Università Statale in Milan from 13 April to 24 May 2015. This monumental architecural structural is composed by two pavilions: a mobile shelter named Liwan and an itinerant cinema called Camera Obscura. Invited to the Energy For Creativity exhibition – organized by the Italian magazine Interni – Annabel Karim Kassar has chosen to display a vision of everyday life in a Lebanese room with these two parts conceived to be reused and reassembled in a different location after its launch in Milan. The idea was not only to highlight the savoir-faire but also French and Lebanese savoir-vivre. Attracted by the diffuse light from Saint-Gobain’s hand-blown glass, one is in for a rare experience – a piece of interior and a kind of cinema installation.

During my travels I met the best craftspeople, great artists and a multitude of passionate people in various fields. I wanted to pay them tribute here by creating an ode to their knowledge.” – Annabel Karim Kassar
