Photography fair Paris Photo gathers galleries, collectors and photographers to Grand Palais in Paris in mid-November into a parade of images, discussions and meetings. The exhibiting galleries present both historical and contemporary works in group, duo and solo exhibitions. In addition, the fair showcases 27 publishers and art book dealers specializing in photography books.

For the first time, Paris Photo presents a curated exhibition sector with large-format photography and serial works at Salon d’Honneur at the Grand Palais. Salon d’Honneur also hosts an exhibition from the Enea Righi Collection with works from artists such as Cy Twombly, Nan Goldin and Hans-Peter Feldmann. This selection is accompanied by numerous exhibitions, such as ‘Acqua #6’ that investigates the theme of water in photography and Atelier Néerlandais’ ‘Foam Talent 2015,’ which showcases up-coming photography talents outside the fair.

Paris Photo will also reunite renowned names from the art world in a series of talks at the Paris Photo Platform. The program of the Platform is divided into three categories: ‘The Collection’ discusses making, care-taking and activating photo collections over time; ‘After the Crisis’ focuses on talks about new forms of photography after the of representation, and ‘The Relationship Between the Book and Photography’ showcases a book as a medium for the dissemination of photography.

The theme of books and photography also continues in the fourth annual Paris Photo – Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards in which photography books will be awarded in categories ‘First Photobook,’ ‘Photobook of the Year’ and ‘Photography Catalogue of the Year.’ •
