During the Milan Design Week, from 14 to 19 April 2015, the Palazzo Litta hosted different installations such as the brand BabledDesign Memorabilia by TLmag 23-featured George Beylerian or the Danish PP Møbler. About Emmanuel Babled’s Limited Editions, it mixed ancient knowledge with cutting-edge technology. Italian technical heritage is revisited in order to obtain new and unexpected results. The exhibition featured an installation of the Digit chandelier series together with several low tables: Quark (copper and marble version), Librastone and Osmosi. Also on show were the latest projects Arcana cabinet, Etna low table and Omega vases. The exhibition by Babled featured a video by Marco Sweering on Babled glass production.

Digit – Picture by Ruy Teixeira

Inspired by 1960’s pop culture, the Digit breaks away from the traditional Murano style of chandelier. Each chandelier is composed of 23 spheres made of hand-blown glass.

Arcana – Picture by Ruy Teixeira

The Arcana collection is a tribute to the know-how of high-quality cabinetwork. Inspired by the Wunderkammer concept, the outer surface of the monolithic walnut cabinet is patterned by a powerful angular relief. The inside conceals a secret interior in curly maple. The Arcana series investigates the classic furniture model of the cabinet, using ordinary dimensions and conformations, yet introducing an unexpected sculptural dimension.

Omega – Picture by Ruy Teixeira

Omega expresses Emmanuel Babled’s creativity in procedures and coloring belonging to the extremely high level of workmanship in the Venini production. Methods of ancient technique recomposed in the contemporary world are the foundations of Omega. Omega is the result of coordination, speed, intuition and knowledge. Each piece is unique and rare, making them timeless standards for the design of glasswork.
