Thaddeus Wolfe, R & Company
Launched in 1997 by Zesty Meyers and Evan Snyderman, New-York-based R & Company represents a distinguished group of historical and contemporary designers whose works are among the most innovative and finely crafted of their respective eras. Emerging Brooklyn-based glass artist Thaddeus Wolfe is no different. He employs a non-traditional approach to classical glass techniques and processes to create an exciting body of work that offers a unique and captivating new direction for the material. Many of Wolfe‘s pieces are created using moulds; each of which can only be used once. His signature method results in rough textures and forms reminiscent of brutalist architecture. His work is informed by the history of art and design, but draws most of its inspiration from the richly crafted works of skilled artisans, working with absolute dedication to their material to create decorative functional objects.
