Thonet at Orgatec 2016
In keeping with the work-centred remit of Orgatec, Thonet is pleased to introduce the CANOR acoustic partition alongside extensions of existing collections. The Frankenberg, Germany-based manufacturer has seen success with its approach to “Residential Workspace”, and these latest additions, unveiled in Cologne at the end of October, continue this theme.
Designed by Julia Homrighausen of the Thonet Design Team, CANOR is a kind of Swiss-Army Knife for the open-plan office. Primarily offering sound insulation, the lightweight partition also functions as a room divider, bulletin board, and storage unit.
On the technology front, Thonet has collaborated with Mauser Sitzkultur to develop a new electronic seat numbering system for auditorium seating. Orgatec also sees new options for the S 830 club chair, including new base/leg combinations in steel and bentwood, and more importantly the swiveling writing panel. And last but not least, Thonet has also updated reliable standbys such as the S 95 conference chair and the S 1195 folding table with new customization options.
