Winy Maas, Lunch with an Architect
Save the date: The next Lunch with an Architect event will take place in Brussels on Monday, 6 June, when MVRDV co-founder Winy Maas will take the stage at Flagey. The visionary architect will present the work of his firm, which was founded in 1991 and has recently doubled in size, thanks to award-winning large-scale projects such as the iconic Markthal in Rotterdam. With 850,000 m2 under construction and 5,000 hectares of urban planning throughout the world, MVRDV has positioned itself to rethink how cities around the world might become more efficient, more ecological, more compact, and more ambitious.
By examining real estate development in terms of contemporary architecture and urban planning, the tri-annual event offers a forum for discussing both the current state of architecture in Brussels and possibilities for its future. Find more information about the event here.
