Aesop opens its new signature storefront in Hamburg with a design scheme developed by Antwerp-based Vincent Van Duysen in collaboration with lighting experts .PSLAB. The Beruit-based firm conceives site-specific luxury lighting products that custom-manufactured by a team of artisans in their own factory. Aesop Hamburg is housed in the glazed ground floor of a 19th-century building. The ground floor has 112 square meters of space divided into several zones. With retail space upfront, Aesop offers it’s first ever European-based facial treatment facility towards the back.

Vincent Van Duysen used natural materials, giving the volume a refined and elegant effect. The walls are bare and keep their original colour. Tiled floors blend little toned buttons and blue stones. .PSLAB created bespoke display unites through out the retail space

A large stone sink which overlooks the foyer is surrounded by shelves – made from European oak untreated blackened steel – the latter references the storefront’s original facade.

The treatment room provides a calm and aromatic atmosphere. This is mainly due to the three adjustable headlamps and brass Persians hostings that exude a flexible and warm ambient light.

Here is a video revealing Aesop’s store at Elements, Honk Kong.

The Aesop in Hamburg is located in the ABC-Viertel District.
