Since its debut in 2003, the London Design Festival has established itself as arguably the biggest design event of the fall season, second only to Milan on the annual exposition calendar. The 2016 edition, set to take place next month from 17–25 September, is once again anchored by several tentpole events that reflect both the history and the changing nature of the city itself. The five official Design Destinations this year are 100% Design, Decorex International, designjunction, Focus/16, and London Design Fair.

Launched in 1995, 100% Design balances its trade aspect with experiential installations and programming. Particularly noteworthy is the debut of LuxuryMade at Olympia’s Pillar Halls, which have been closed to the public for over 20 years.

The historic grounds of Syon Park will host more than 400 exhibitors at Decorex International, including several curated presentations.

designjunction moves to the revitalized King’s Cross area, where Central St. Martins and UAL have recently relocated to converted

Focus/16 offers the best of the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour, from 120 international exhibitors to a program of over 100 talks, demonstrations, and workshops.

Lastly, the London Design Fair comprises Tent London and Super Brands, which return to the Truman Brewery, expanding to three floors with a strong international presence alongside special projects such as the British Craft Pavilion.

Sited across London, the Design Destinations represent the breadth and depth of the festival’s offerings. The Decorex International and Focus/16 tradeshows will open on Sunday, 18 September, during the first weekend of LDF, at Syon Park and Design Centre, respectively. 100% Design, designjunction, and the London Design Fair take place during the second half of the week.
