It looks a lot like a digital illusion or a distorted photo but it’s not ! It’s a real carved cabinet created by the Italian designer Laviani for the company Fratelli Boffi and its provocative series called “F* THE CLASSICS!”. “Good Vibrations“, this surreal piece of furniture had been carved from oak by a CNC machine and presented at the 2013 Salone del Mobile in Milan.

As the designer explains : “The appeal of this extraordinary piece of furniture lies in its ability to overturn and question classical stylistic principles such as purity, cleanness and symmetry, while evoking a comforting feeling of deja-vù and a sort of primitiveness, matched by unquestionable craftsmanship.”
