Maniera at Biennale Interieur
Maniera Gallery is making a strong showing at the Biennale Interieur this year, with presentations throughout the Kortrijk Xpo. After all, founder/director Amaryllis Jacobs represents the curators of the 25th Silver Edition of the event, OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen. This includes a special presentation of Geers and Van Severen’s Solo House, featuring a spatial installation and bespoke furniture designed for the holiday house in Spain.
Maniera is also pleased to present an outdoor pavilion by Jonathan Muecke, whose work is featured in an exhibition at the gallery’s permanent space in Brussels. Sited just outside the south entrance of the expo center, the “Green House” explores the relationship between interior and exterior.
Also on view in the Biennale Interieur, as part of the historical survey “Generations”, Maniera is presenting the “Kamer Renee Cabinet” by architecten de vylder vinck taillieu. And last but not least, Maniera is showing furniture by all of the architects/designers above, as well as Richard Venlet and Bijoy Jain / Studio Mumbai, at it’s booth among the invited galleries at the biennale. Designed by Juliaan Lampens, the square space is subdivided into four quadrants, echoing the division of the invited gallery installation.
The Biennale Interieur is on view at the Kortrijk Xpo until 23 October.
