Sea, Land and Space by Studio Swine at Okolo Gallery
Following in a series of ‘out-of-suitcase’ exhibitions – presenting the speculative work of Big-Game, Maarten de Ceulaer, Lex Pott and Sebastian Herkner – Prague-based Okolo Gallery spotlights five recent postulations by TLmag 24 Design Duo Studio Swine. Invited to lecture at the nearby Scholastika education platform, these emerging European talents showcase their objects, samples, models, photos, texts and other materials; brought with them in checked luggage. The grass-roots initiative and venue impliments its low-budget apporach by devising bespoke scenographies. With Studio Swine’s conceptual, performative and scenario-based projects on show, the gallery opted to use recycled styrofoam slabs, alluding back to the sea-extrapolated plastic employed in the London-based practices’ Sear Chair/ Gyrecraft exploration. Other projects within the Sea, Land and Space showcase include Can City, Hair Highway, Terraforming and Meteorite.
