The exhibition from designers Färg & Blanche was commissioned by the fair itself and TMF – Swedish Federation of wood and furniture industry. It highlights the work and important values in the Scandinavian furniture industry. It retraces the history of contemporary Scandinavian design with the philosophy and methods from crafting by hand to robotized production lines.

Exhibition view

The exhibition is housed in an impressive wooden pavilion which gives the visitor a feeling of walking inside a large piece of furniture. The shape of the structure is inspired by traditional upholstered furniture with capiton patterns. The quilting is created when being shot in textiles with one button. This structure is made of 160 turns molded wood. For this birch was used and was working for a perfect fit.

The exhibition shows ten pieces of furniture, chosen for the ideas and values behind them, how they were manufactured and developed, and stories
that comes with it. So each piece has its own story to tell about people and places where they were made.
