Following a successful presentation at Design Miami/ Basel, Milan’s DIMORESTUDIO is pleased to unveil their latest interior design project. The multidisciplinary studio brings a cohesive contemporary Art Deco aesthetic to Lagrange12, a new multibrand luxury boutique in Turin. Tastefully combining vintage and contemporary pieces, Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran highlight the stylistic details and signature materials such as green glass, oxidised steel, polished steel, and black painted iron. Notable furnishings include an original LC4 chaise longue and armchairs by Giò Ponti and Paolo Buffa.
Meanwhile, the overall effect is tailored to the historic building itself, where Lagrange12 spans of two floors, totaling 800 square meters. Alcantara wall cladding complements various types of flooring — grey cement, black resin, and black granite, as well as carpet — as well as the custom hanger rails. Inspired by sculptures by Louise Bourgeois and American artist Oscar Tuazon, the spider-like structures nicely contrast with the trunk-like wardrobe units along the walls.
The high-end retail space is DIMORESTUDIO’s second major project in June 2016. For Design Miami/ Basel, from 14–19 June, curator Martina Mondadori Sartogo invited Salci and Moran to create an installation based on the theme of nature and outdoor living. Located at the entrance of the fair for maximum visibility, the Design at Large exhibition also included projects by the likes of Ron Arad, Jean Prouvé, and Kengo Kuma, among others.
