The 2018 Hyères Festival Shortlist Is Hyere
Prep for April: here are the finalists of the 33rd edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories, which takes place at Villa Noailles
Previously known as the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, the showcase added the Fashion Accessories selection last year. What a quick study this new category has been: in this year’s edition, TLmag faves Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel —of Mansur Gavriel fame— and United Arrows Tokyo’s Hirofumi Kurino are part of the jury.
Their picks for the 10-strong shortlist range from the playfulness of the Formula One-ish bags by Jinah Jung to the delicate tech of the auditory jewellery collection by Kate Fichard, Flora Fixy and Julia Dessirier.
As for the other categories? King of Byredo Ben Gorham and queen of Mars Tilda Swinton are joining the likes of Haider Ackermann and Delfina Delettrez in the fashion jury, while the photography jury is headed by Bettina Rheims and includes another TLmag fave, India Mahdavi.
The 33rd edition of the festival will take place at Villa Noialles from April 26 to 30. In the meantime, here are the jury’s picks for the shortlist in each category.

The annual Design Parade exhibitions in Hyères and Toulon opened their doors on June 27 and 28th. This marks the 18th edition of the Hyéres international festival of design and the 8th edition of the international interior architecture festival in Toulon.
