DUO: Bolon/ Flooring Lombardia building
TL11 will contain a special of 25 pages on inspiring duos in design, fashion, art, photography and architecture. The Swedish Bolon sisters, running the family business of woven flooring, obviously could not be missing from the list. One of the latest Bolon projects is the supply of 95000 sqm of Now Silver tiles for the Lombardia regione building in Milan, the highest building in Italy. Shoji Fabrics, a new collection of transparent fabrics that includes 16 variations in two types: ‘Diaphanous’ and ‘Essence’, designed by Mae Engelgeer in collaboration with the House of Hosoo, launched during Milan Design Week along with the opening of the Hosoo Milan showroom. The earthy hues of terracotta, the textures of pine needles or ancient mosaic floors are inspirations for Milan-based designer and creative, Marialaura Irvine. She recently presented a new tapestry, Oplontis, with Spazio Nobile Gallery.
