The Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) has partnered with Perignano-based brand Edra to furnish Casa Italia, the headquarters for the Italian Olympic athletes in Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 games. Separated from the mainland by a 90-meter bridge, the venue will serve as a kind of sanctuary for Italian Olympians and esteemed guests in Brazil.
Just as Edra’s mission combines tradition with innovation in materials and manufacturing technology, the residence represents the architectural intersection of sport, art, culture, and Italian design, Edra has provided ten products from its collection to decorate the space: On The Rocks, Sfatto, and Standard, the sofas of Francesco Binfarè; Favela and Brasilia by the Campana Brothers; the spiral sofa Tatlin; sculpture-chairs by artist Jacopo Foggini, Ella and Gina; the lily-chair Getsuen; and the tables Aqua and Croma, which sum up the essential concept of elegance.
Casa Italia takes place from 3–21 August, on the occasion of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
