Following a successful launch almost exactly one year ago, during London Design Festival 2015, Ariane Prin is pleased to expand the flagship RUST collection of her eponymous brand. Iterating on the techniques she developed for the inaugural collection, the French designer has continued with her experiments with mixing metallic dust into the raw plaster. After weeks or sometimes months of oxidation, the highly variable process yields one-of-a-kind pieces that are unified by a signature texture and appearance. For her latest collection, Prin explored the use of copper to achieve a green/blue color in the final products.

The new works debuted during LDF, alongside new ceramics by Studio Furthermore at a presentation called Particle Particular in Shoreditch. A product designer by training and trade, Prin has also produced a series of clocks for the Tord Boontje-curated exhibition Electro Craft. Each one is composed from 12 wedges of ceramic to form the face of a minimal yet materially compelling timepiece.
