The European Technical Textile Convention FUTEX 2015
From 21 to 22 January, the 5th biennial European Convention FUTEX took its place at Hippodrome of Marcq-en-Baroeul & Campus CETI / Tourcoing for presenting new technical textiles in interiors and architecture. With already 4 editions to its credit, the European Convention on Technical Textiles FUTEX returns to answer these questions with the theme Textile & Energy because the development of evolutionary materials and technology has always strongly inspired innovative creations. This is a perfect opportunity to show that the textile is technical, innovative and intelligent. This convention is a key event dedicated to latest developments and innovations in technical textiles in Northern Europe since 2005 and is considered as the big European meeting. It is the result of the close partnership between the city of Marcq-en-Barœul (Lille Métropole) and the network of professionals CLUBTEX technical textiles. Designers, researchers and technicians always keep an open mind to go against received wisdom and produce reinterpretations of classic objects that transgress conventions. The curtains of optic fibre and the translucent concrete block presented at the FUTEX Convention are the fruits of such experimentations.
