The Alvar Aalto Museum’s main exhibition this year, The Cultivated Landscape of Alvar Aalto, showcases Alvar Aalto’s design with the emphasis on the connection between architecture and the surrounding landscape and nature. The affinity between Aalto’s production and nature is an oft-repeated theme, but analysis of buildings with regard to landscape architecture is still an under-researched topic.

Berlin Art Glass debuted their new lighting brand ANALOG in Alcova Sassetti last Milan Design Week. The first series of this brand is called On Movement and Material and is created in collaboration with Philip Weber, the new Artistic Director of this cultural institution. He took the time to sit down with TLmag and talk about the lighting brand and his new position.

Greek artist Athina Ioannou maximizes and reinterprets painting through minimal and economic means. Her sensuous ‘abstract’ painting – what she refers to as ‘plus-painting’ – arises from the ‘intensification’ of ready-made carriers through the patient all-over saturation of her work with linseed oil.

Designer Alexandre Chary is currently spending time between France and China, all the while exploring new approaches in his practice. He collaborates with various design groups, artists, and craftsmen from both sides of the world. TLmagazine caught up with him to talk about his work and presentation, which is also being featured at Spazio Nobile gallery.
