Created in 1999, the Liliane Bettencourt Prize pour intelligence de la main rewards expertise, creativity and innovation in the crafts. It has become a label of excellence for French crafts and enhances their reputation. Since its inception, this competition for professional craftspeople has recognized the talent of nearly 90 individuals working in a number of different fields whose achievements demonstrate the intelligence of the hand.
The Liliane Bettencourt Prize pour intelligence de la main is comprised of three awards.
Talents d’exception rewards a craftsperson for work demonstrating a perfect mastery of techniques and knowledge of a craft. It must be innovative in nature and contribute to the development of this expertise.
Prize: €50,000.
Further assistance: up to €100,000 to carry out a development project.
Dialogues, created in 2010, encourages the pairing of a craftsperson’s skills with the imagination of another creator (designer, visual artist, architect, decorator, interior designer, etc.) and rewards a work demonstrating exceptional savoir-faire and rich collaboration.
Prize: €50 000, to be shared between the winners.
Further assistance: up to €100,000 each to carry out a development project.
Parcours, created in 2014, spotlights an exemplary individual (natural or legal person) for his or her commitment, achievements, contribution to the French crafts sector, exemplarity, ability to lead others, ambition and future plans.
