Brafa Art Fair has opened its 67th edition. On view through June 26th, the esteemed fair that focuses on ancient art up through contemporary, will be open to the public at Brussels Expo.

Maria Cristina Didero curates the 16th edition of Design Miami/Basel, titled “The Golden Age,” and featuring a dynamic selection of works from the past and present, by top international galleries and designers.

In 2021, Chiara Alessi spoke with Milan-based designer, Marialaura Irvine, about her use of embroidery as both an art form and creative process, and her role in Studio Irvine. Currently, Marialaura just completed an interiors project at the Circulo Filologico, in Milan, and is preparing to debut a new collection of rugs with Spazio Nobile at NOMAD Capri, in July. For our S/S 2021 issue: TLmag35: Tactile, Textile, Texture, Costanza Rinaldi wrote about the groundbreaking career of Maria Lai, a Sardinian born artist who used poetry and art as means to better understand life and its complexities, particularly as an independent woman of her generation.

Through innovative techniques with wood and metal, Pia Maria Raeder is crafting a distinctive body of work in the collectible design world. Her almost anthropomorphic collections capture a sense of nature’s mystery, its hidden creatures or glimmering stardust, while exuding luxury and the beauty of the handmade.

Le Stanze del Vetro presents FontanaArte: House of Glass, a retrospective exhibition curated by Christian Larsen, which examines the contributions of the famous Milanese company in the years between 1932-1996. The exhibition is on view through July 31, 2022.

As part of their installation, Earth, Glass, Fire, at Collectible 2022, Spazio Nobile presented a selection of new glass vessels by contemporary Czech artist, Josef Divin. His distinctive process of hand blowing and hand cutting glass creates enigmatic and captivating works of art.

Spazio Nobile studiolo presents an exhibition of work created at Cor Unum, a Dutch ceramics workshop with a unique vision. On view is a a presentation of the four seasons by leading designers of the Memphis movement as well as new work by other talented Dutch designers.

The Collectible fair is back to being an in-person event, with doors opening to the public on Friday, May 20th. Known for its sharp eye and collaborative approach with designers, galleries, editors and institutions, Collectible 2022 should bring lots of creative energy to Brussels this weekend.
