Since founding London’s Vessel Gallery 20 years ago, Angel Monzon has become an expert on the contemporary glass-art scene, exhibiting and developing the work of a myriad glass artists. As a proud proponent of glass as a hand-worked skill, we speak to him about the developments he’s seen and the future he envisions for the craft.

Alvar Aalto Museum’s main exhibition showcases the architect’s buildings with an emphasis on the connection between architecture and the surrounding landscape. Aalto’s affinity with nature is an oft-repeated theme, but analysis of his buildings with regard to landscape architecture is still an under-researched topic.

Experimentation plays an important role in Studio MVW’s creative process. While materials, textures and surfaces are constantly researched and tested, the designers are also interested in exploring the possibilities of luxury in the 21st century — what this concept means in our contemporary lifestyle and how it is signified in our daily surroundings.

Berlin Art Glass debuted their new lighting brand ANALOG in Alcova Sassetti last Milan Design Week. The first series of this brand is called On Movement and Material and is created in collaboration with Philip Weber, the new Artistic Director of this cultural institution. He took the time to sit down with TLmag and talk about the lighting brand and his new position.

Using various textile techniques like knitting, embroidery and tufting, Paris-based textile artist Manon Daviet transposes her drawings into tapestries, creating what she calls “volume paintings”. Here, she talks TLmag through her multidisciplinary practice, finding inspiration in comic books and her embracing of mysticism in nature.
