Viúva Lamego is an icon of Portuguese ceramic traditions and after 175 years, is managing to lead the way with contemporary collaborations, from the tiled roof on Kengo Kuma’s design for the Gulbenkian Museum to Joana Vasconcelos’s wild ‘Wedding Cake’ at the Rothschild Foundation.

For the 3rd edition of Lisbon Design Week, Luso Collective presented “Perception & Matter”, an exhibition featuring work by eleven design studios, with a focus on experimentation, exploration of materiality and “encouraging a re-evaluation of how materials inform not only design but also our emotional response to objects.”

From 28 May to 1 June, the third edition of Lisbon Design Week (LDW) celebrates design, craft and creativity, promising five days of design experiences to explore.
