The interior designer’s very first furniture collection is handcrafted in her home-country of Belgium, and brings furniture to its essence of being a lifelong ‘travelling companion’.
Since winning the LOEWE Craft Prize in 2017, Ernst Gamperl has been pursuing more essential & archaic formats. ‘Tree of Life’ is his once-in-a-lifetime project, as he transforms a huge 230-year-old oak tree into 67 wrought vessels that embody his excellence in woodturning and experimental patinas.
For the next two months, pieces from the MANIERA collection find a new home in De Beir House, an early example of architect’s Huib Hoste’s modernist designs.
With a passion for mobility and desire to challenge branded perception, German designer Florian Borkenhagen deconstructs, transforms and reconstructs everyday objects and provides them with a sophisticated value. TLmag caught up with the designer, whose work straddles the space between art and design.
Jörg Bräuer pursues his poetic and aesthetic quest, focusing on landscapes, architecture and still lifes with a pictorial quality that exposes the finer details with great depth and contrast, revealing the restrained beauty that inhabits the unknown world around us.
